- GENRE: Stoner metal, stoner rock
- COUNTRY: USA
Sometimes we refer to him as the male version of Janis Joplin. However, there’s a lot more madness in the voice of John Garcia. On top of that, he is an excellent songwriter and boasts charismatic stage presence. At Mystic Festival, the vocalist of the dearly departed Kyuss will perform the strongest numbers from his solo material.
History:
Born in 1970, John Garcia was a legend long before he embarked on his solo career. He was the frontman of Kyuss, sang in Unda, Slo Burn, Hermano… In the meantime, he also served as the main vocalist of the Kyuss Live! project, which has since been rechristened as Vista Chino. When the last of the aforementioned bands fell apart, the artists decided to focus on a solo career. His self-titled debut album was an excursion into psychedelic hard rock territories, but with the sophomore record, The Coyote Who Spoke In Tongues, he ventured into americana, folk and country. A homecoming came with his third record, which remains his most recent output, John Garcia and the Band of Gold.
