Bullet for My Valentine

If one were to list the biggest names in the history of a genre as expansive as metalcore, Bullet For My Valentine would be at the absolute top of such a list. The Welsh band has made an indelible mark on the genre, which they have been embossing and polishing since the release of their now-cult debut album The Poison all the way to their more recent releases. They sold out Gliwice Arena recently and they won’t be taking anyone prisoner at Mystic Festival either.

History:

The beginnings of Bullet For My Valentine’s career date back to 1998, though they started out with a different name – Jeff Killed John. While playing under this name, the band mostly covered the classic songs of Metallica and Nirvana. In 2002 the band changed their name to the current one and almost immediately signed a five-album deal with Sony. In 2005, they released their debut record, The Poison, which ended up being a huge success. In the U.S. the album reached number 128 on the Billboard 200 chart and went gold. Their sophomore record, Scream Aim Fire, went gold in Germany, Australia and the United Kingdom. From that point on, their career was blazing ahead. The band sold out huge arenas and was among the biggest metal phenomena of the late 2000s. They won heaps of awards, including six wins in different categories at the prestigious Kerrang! Awards. They’re still giants, and their subsequent albums, such as Temper Temper or Gravity, constituted only further proof of their status as the biggest metal band in the history of Wales.
