They started out as We Are Among Storms, but now they go by Embla and they aim to entangle piercing aggression with ambience so thoroughly that they appear to be a single tissue. When you put their records on, you’ll hear that they’ve clearly been successful.
History:
The post-hardcore band Embla was formed in 2017 as We Are Among Storms. The name change for the current moniker took place only in May 2024. The band has released their post-hardcore vision gradually and triumphantly. They started with a self-titled EP in 2018, doubled down with a split album released with Hiraki not long after and solidified the final form of their style on their full-length debut from 2021 – The I in We. The five-piece have been working on new material, the first to be released under their new name.
