What do they play exactly? That’s not really important – what is important is that it’s fast, raging and intense. Escuela Grind is a wild, largely unpredictable marriage of grind, death metal and good old powerviolence. Their music is imbued with punk spontaneity and metal thoroughness. They’ll knock you down so good you’ll ask for more.
History:
Escuela Grind was founded in 2016. Their goal was clear from the beginning – to create a chaotic, punk-metal blend of grind, death metal and powerviolence, without paying much attention to genre conventions. The band’s vocalist, Katerina Economou, hammered politically engaged lyrics into the mix, taking stock of all of the alarming situations happening in the world right now. At the beginning, the band predominantly recorded split albums, but in 2020, they kicked things into high gear, releasing an EP and a first full-length record. With time, their chaotic and playfully punchy style became ever the coveted meal on the metal and punk scene. Today, Escuela Grind is one of the biggest stars of the grindcore scene.
