Jinjer

They give big headlining performances. If they are someone’s support act, they are usually the biggest names in the game, such as Slipknot. In their music, they blend progressive, djent, groove metal, extreme and metalcore influences – regardless of what label you put on them, they sound like a million bucks. Jinjer is the most spectacular band that Ukraine gave to the metal world.

History:

The Ukrainian band Jinjer was founded in 2008 and – fun fact – none of the founding members are still playing with the band. The permanent line-up stabilised in 2016 thanks to the drummer Vladi and it has remained unchanged since. The vocalist Tati, the guitarist Roman Ibramkhallilov and the bassist Eugene Abdukhanov changed Jinjer in 2009, 2010 and 2011 respectively. In 2009, the band released into the world the EP Objects in Mirror Are Closer Than They Appear, followed by two singles, and in 2012 charged ahead with a second EP – Inhale, Do Not Breathe. All of the aforementioned releases (as well as their debut full-length album, Cloud Factory from 2014) were positively received, but the real buzz came with the 2016 King of Everything. It was on this record that the band’s eclectic, modern and vibrant style fully ripened and where the band forged their metalcore, groove metal, progressive as well as a slew of other influences into phenomenal songs. Their fame only grew with each subsequent release and currently, they essentially enjoy a headliner status. The Ukrainian band will come to Mystic Festival as part of the promotional tour for their 2025 album Duél.
