Katla

They claim to play ultra doom metal and such description is no exaggeration. The Danish band Katla oscillates between doom and stoner metal, offering raw, dingy, and above all meaty riffs.

History:

Currently on the roaster of the prestigious Napalm Records, the Copenhagen-based band started out in 2018. It was formed by three lads – Rasmus Bang, Merc Christensen and David Rosing. They didn’t twiddle their thumbs and immediately released a self-titled EP – deemed to show great promise in the doom underground. During the pandemic, they released two more EPs which served as chapter one and two of the Warmongering Luciferians cycle. In 2022, Rosing left the group and was replaced by Theis Roed Stenberg Thorgersen. In the same year, the band released a split album, Overdoser, with their fellow countrymen from Czar.
