Black metal and shoegaze? We’ve known this combination for a while now, but it so happens that Møl is capable of extracting from these realms so many diamonds that what they do shines anew. For them, the ethereal goes hand in hand with bouts of rage – it’s normal for them to swing back and forth, back and forth, always on the dot.
History:
Though Møl may appear to be an up-and-coming band, they have been in the game for quite a while. It all started in 2012 in Aarhus. The band spent two years on completing the line-up and working on the kernels of their material, and in 2014, they debuted with a self-titled EP. A year later, they released a second EP. Both records, both steeped in the extremely popular marriage of schoegaze and black metal at the time, brought crowds of fans to them. In 2018, still true to their stylistic convictions, they released their first full-length record, Jord, which was extremely well-received. But it was only with their sophomore album, Dioramy from 2021, that they entered into the canon of the blackgaze classics. They signed with Nuclear Blast not long after.
