They were one of the bands that brought thrash metal back at the beginning of the 21st century. They combine the theme of wild parties and sludge of all sorts with the lively and scorching crossover thrash. Live they are absolutely unsinkable, as you’ll see.
History:
Municipal Waster was formed in 2000, and their goal was to recreate the ambience of the crossover thrash classics of the 80s. In 2001, they already managed to tour across the US and Mexico. In the meantime, they released an EP and some splits, and debuted in 2003 with the album Waste ‘Em All – today considered one of the crossover classics of the 21st century. The breakthrough came with their third record, The Art of Partying, which catapulted the band into the top of the end of the year rankings in a number of high-end rock-metal media. They continued to tour hard, which is still their bread and butter, and recorded more albums. So far, they’ve released seven, including their latest record, Electrified Brain, which they put out in 2022.
