Rap metal? New York hardcore? Or maybe metalcore or – the obvious – nu-metal? Stray from the Path have all that and more. For over two decades now, they’ve been providing the listeners with the grooviest and angriest metal-punk-rap bangers under the sun.
History:
Though they cropped up on the New York hardcore scene, their stylistic interests reach further than that. Nevertheless, Stray from the Path started out as the poster child of their time and background. That is, at the start, they were completely DIY and self-released their first two records. Therein, they cleverly combined the raging New York groove of hardcore with metalcore tendencies and pronounced nu-metal rhythms. This blend made them quite popular, so much so that they released their third album, Villains, under Sumerian Records. Their star was on the rise – their next album, Anonymous, was the band’s first to be featured on Billboard 200, reaching the mighty number 40 on the chart. Currently, the band is signed yo UNFD and their latest full-lenght album is Euthanasia from 2022.
