Disharmonic Orchestra

They’ve always stood apart from the rest of the scene. Technically, they’ve played death metal from the start, but always as contrarians – their music’s weird, unhinged, and avant garde. There’s simply no other band like them. Disharmonic Orchestra are legends with a cult following among the fans of drastically different and original death metal. This will be their second concert on Polish soil, and you best be there.

History:

Disharmonic Orchestra was founded in 1987 by Patrick Klopf, Martin Messner and Herald Bezdek. The last of the aforementioned musicians left the group while they were still releasing demos, but the other two have stuck around till this day. On the first four demos, an EP, a split album with Pungent Stench and their debut album Expositionsprophylaxe, the Austrians were concocting an intricate but not entirely unorthodox death metal grind, cut through with technical elements. Everything changed on their breakthrough, sophomore record Not to Be Undimensional Conscious – it’s was then that the band ventured into the avant garde and the deconstruction of the metal of death. On the subsequent record, Pleasuredome, the band moved even further away from extreme metal and a year later, disbanded. Disharmonic Orchestra came back to the land of the living in 2001 and has gone on to release two more records – Ahead and Fear of Angst.
