- GENRE: sludge metal
- COUNTRY: USA
Riffs – or, more accurately, tons of them. That’s what you should expect from the Mystic recital of Black Tusk. The American sludgeheads will ensure that you will leave their concert deaf, dishevelled and delighted from this sonic violence. There’ll be noise, there’ll be dirt, and there’ll be a lot of it.
History:
The history of Blask Tusk began in 2005 when a couple of friends from different punk bands (such as Unpersons, for example) came together to play some music of a more metal persuasion. The guys quickly cracked on with things, releasing two demos, one year after another, and then three years later – their first LP, Passage Through Purgatory. The swampy and disgusting character of their sludge immediately caught the attention fans and critics alike, and left them awestruck with the power of this music. As a result, the band’s sophomore record, Taste the Sin, was released under the banner of the legendary Relapse Records. With their fifth record, T.C.B.T., the Savannah band signed with an equally respected label, Season of Mist. The band’s latest record is the 2024 The Way Forward.
