History:
Gatecreeper was formed in Phoenix, Arizona in 2013 by Chase Mason, Eric Wagner and Matt Arrebollo who remain the powerful core of the band till this day. In 2014, they released a self-titled EP and in 2016, they doubled down with their first LP, Sonoran Depravation, and two split albums. Already back then, there were quite the phenomenon in the death metal universe. Nevertheless, it wasn’t until the release of Deserted that their mix of death metal and hardcore become a sensation in the metal world. The band toured around the world with the genre’s giants, and thanks to their pandemic EP An Unexpected Reality and, more importantly, third full-length record, Dark Superstition, they’ve become one of the kings of the contemporary metal of death. Joining such titans as In Flames and Arch Enemy on tour only confirms that they won’t be dethroned any time soon.
