We promise the power of the ruthless breakdowns will be completely off the scale. We’re not joking here – the level of toughness and heaviness goes through the roof. Thankfully, that frets us not, ready as we are for an absolute feral mosh pit in the rhythms of Kublai Khan TX’s wild beatdown hardcore. You’d better beef up before Mystic Festival, for their concerts are quite the beating.
History:
Kublai Khan TX’s rich career began in 2009 in the Texan town of Sherman. It was there that the youths, inspired by the tough-guy, metal-laden hardcore of bands such as Hatebreed and Integrity, decided to use this insipiration to forge their own langauge. The American crew did not sit idle, and in 2010, they released the EP Youth War and two singles to go with it. Their music caused quite the stir in the hardcore underground, but the real bang came with the release of their first full-length record, Balancing Survival and Happiness. Extremely heavy riffs, breakdowns and self-assured lyrics about overcoming your own weaknesses were the secret ingredient to their success. The record was warmly received, and so was the follow-up, the year younger New Strength. It was on the wave of its success that the band moved to the recording giant Rise Records, on which they debuted with the album Nomad. Today, Kublai Khan TX are one of the biggest names in the world of metallic hardcore. The band’s latest record is Exhibition of Prowess.
