Back in the day, when combining metal with hardcore was deemed sacrilegious in Poland, they were one of the first to commit this blasphemous marriage. Today, Frontside are living legends of Polish metalcore. Years have passed, but they’ve never lost it – they’re even more extreme now. Surely, you feel tempted?
History:
Frontside’s journey began in 1993 in Sosnowiec. During the first couple of years, they were mostly releasing demos, building their credibility on the hardcore scene. In 2000, the time came for more concrete moves, namely, a split album with 1125 and an EP, Początek ery nienawiści, with their material from it – a cult record among their fans. In 2001, the band truly broke through, releasing into the world their debut album …nasze królestwo, potęga i chwała na wieki…. A year later, they came back swinging with their sophomore record, considered by many to be their magnum opus – I odpuść nam nasze winy. After its release, Frontside signed with Regain Records; the album also won a Fryderyk award in the Best Album of the Year – Heavy Metal category. On the subsequent records, the band maintained their metalcore style until 2014, when they released Sprawa jest osobista, the band’s one-time-only venture into rock territories. Frontside’s latest full-length record is Zmartwychwstanie.
