If you are in search of metalcore in its melodic iteration, one that openly flirts with alternative influences, Defects is for you. Their debut, Modern Error, is pure, thick riffing interwoven with big hits.
History:
Defects was formed in 2019 and they were gradually developing and working on their music. Their interest lay first and foremost in melding heaviness with poetry in every layer – both in music and in lyrics. Both of these elements fermented and ripened until they exploded on the EP Broken Bloodlines from 2023 and on the band’s debut album Modern Error from 2024. Their combining of the genre intensity with the contemporary sound brought them heaps of good reviews and a pretty large fanbase.
