It would be easier to say what SiM doesn’t play than what they do. There’s the aggression of metalcore, the groove of nu-metal, the insertions of lounge and you can even catch reggae or punk in the background… There’s no such thing as boring with them!
History:
SiM (short for Silence iz Mine) was born in 2004. The early years of their history encompass mostly rotations in the lineup, a pursuit of their own style and figuring out other fields. Their first bit of material was the single “paint sky blue,” released in 2007. A year afterwards they put out their debut, self-titled album. In 2010, they started touring intensively in Japan and in 2011, they released their sophomore album, Seeds of Hope. Their popularity exploded with Pandora, released in 2013. After it premiered, the album landed the spot of the 5th best-selling record in Japan and the band started embarking on increasingly bigger tours. This happened largely thanks to their switching labels and signing a deal with a major player, i.e. the Japenesse branch of Universal Music. Ever since then, their status never deflated, quite the opposite – they’ve only grown in esteem. The band’s lineup has also remained the same since 2009.
