- DAY: 05.06
- STAGE: Desert Stage
- COUNTRY: Italy
Everyone who loves psychodelic flirtations in stone-heavy metal loves Ufomammut as well. The Italian trio will bombard us with the world’s heaviest riffs, throwing in trance for good measure and melodies so acidic you will take you a few days to sober up after their performance.
History:
Ufomammut’s history is crystal clear. The band was born in 1999 in the Italian town of Tortona and has continued to play throughout the years in an almost unchanged line-up. The only change came in 2020 when the drummer, Vita, left the band and was replaced by Levre. The aforementioned Vita was one of the founding members of the band, the other two being Poia and Urlo. From the very beginning, the trio went all in on the psychodelic ambiance, with the heavy and knotty sound being just as important as the visual side of things, particularly explored during the live performances. Even Poia himself describes longer Ufomammut songs as images. Their band name, of course, is a portmanteau of UFO and mammoth.
