- GENRE: alternative metal, metalcore, post hardcore
- COUNTRY: USA
Letlive. is a unique name in the landscape of contemporary post-hardcore. They’ve never been one-dimensional. There has always been space for taking a breath, for melodies, big choruses – all tied together by their charismatic leader, Jason Aalon Butler. In 2025, they reactivated after a seven-year-long hiatus. Their Mystic Festival performance will surely prove that it was worth the wait.
History:
Letlive. was formed in 2002 in Los Angeles. With their first demo and EP, Exhaustion, Salt Water, and Everything in Between, they caused quite a stir in the hardcore underground. In 2005, they released their full-length debut album, Speak Like You Talk, but it was only with the five years younger Fake History that the band struck gold. They started touring like crazy and became the critical darling of media outlets from Allmusic to the BBC. The band’s two subsequent records, The Blackest Beautiful and If I’m the Devil, only reinforced their status. In 2017, Letlive. disbanded, but they returned to touring in 2024.
