Gutalax

Hazmat suits, flying toilet paper, stage-diving with portable toilets… No, this is not the description of the wildest party in the history of humankind, that’s just the standard Gutalax gig. The Czech goregrind band is, without a doubt, one of the most spectacular and fun bands within this genre. But worry not, the aforementioned visual attractions are not the only thing they have to offer – the band boasts solid goregrind material as well. Absolutely revolting, heavy, with sprinting tempos and showing off their vocals with pitch shifting or even imitating frogs or a grumble of pigs. A band like that ain’t formed every day.

History:

Gutalax was formed in 2009 in Czechia and the bandmembers (with nicknames such as Kebab or Maty) concluded that since they were to play full-fledged goregrind, then why not name the band after a popular Czech laxative.

On top of that, there is their eye-catching style, i.e. the band members donning white hazmat suits – an important identifier, which was quickly supplemented by the band with a heavy dose of original music. In 2010, the band released their debut split album and a year later – their first full-length album, “Shit Beast”. Gatalax’s unapologetically brutal and lively goregrind, paired with the characteristic image described earlier, immediately caught the attention of the fans of the genre and others as well. Since 2012 the Czech band has been regularly touring across Europe and the material they have released since then includes two more full-length albums – “Shit Happens!” from 2015 and “The Shitpendables “from 2021.

The band’s outrageous live performances have made it famous even outside of the goregrind underground scene.
