Massive Wagons

Ready for rock? Ready for some good fun? If you answered yes to both of these questions, we suggest that you attend the Massive Wagons gig at Mystic. The veteran British band of rascals plays a fiery, energy- and testosterone-bursting hard rock. From time to time, they infuse this feral feat of riffs with a pinch of alt-rock sensitivity, however, the mood of weekend roistering is without a doubt immediately detectable in their sound. In June, they’ll be a guaranteed rave.

History:

The Massive Wagons story did not start in a rehearsal room or with pints of beer in some squalid pub, but at an Australian concert of Airbourne in 2009. The guitarist, Adam Thistlethwaite, and the vocalist, Barry Mills, were some amazed by the intensity of their performance that they decided to start playing their own original hard rock.

After completing the line-up with three other musicians, the band went full steam ahead. The band’s first two records (“Fire It Up from 2011 and Fight the System” from 2014) might not have enjoyed a huge commercial success, but they have inspired a growing and ardent fan following. They didn’t have to wait long for the popularity boom either, for it came in 2016 after the release of “Welcome to the World”. While doing promotion for the album, Massive Wagons did an extensive, mostly sold-out, club tour.

The following records further solidified the band’s status and the latest album, “TRIGGERED!”, released in 2022, not only is more feral than its predecessors, with stronger than before punk influences, but also debuted at number six on British album charts. The impressive shape the band is currently in was further confirmed by their joint tour with Ugly Kid Joe, during which the band graced the cult Shepherd’s Bush Empire stage for the first time.
