Dödsrit

The situation with Dödsrit is as follows – they have a lot of rage instead of them, but they also have a lot of sadness-fuelled melancholy. This emotional blend quite naturally led the Swedish band to choose a befitting style mixture as their identifier, which is a mix of black metal and crust punk. From the former, the band incorporates misanthropy interwoven with bitterness and great melodies and from the latter, a tempest of rage and rawness. One thing we know for sure – they take no prisoners while performing live.

History:

The Swedish band Dödsrit was formed in 2017. Initially, it was a personal music project of Christoffer Ă–ster and its debut self-titled album, also released in 2017, was a solo production from top to bottom. However, it did plant the seed, for the black/crust blend offered on the record was enjoyed by ardent fans of metal and punk alike.

In 2018, Christoffer invited three other musicians to join the project and since then, Dödrist has been a four-piece band. The extended line-up allowed the band to do proper touring and with that, to increase their popularity. Then came the tellingly titled “Spirit Crusher” (released also in 2018) and the third album, released three years later, “Mortal Coil” – the most recent album in their discography thus far.
