Five The Hierophant

They are often called the psychedelic shamans and they play… well, it’s hard to say what they play. The Londoners of Five The Hierophant theoretically create within the metal genre, but trying to label them is pointless. They touch upon the avantgarde, often look into sombre dark jazz, they are close to the post-rock aesthetics with a bit of drone trance, sailing out into the unknown. You should let them hypnotise you live.

History:

Five The Hierophant was established in London in 2014. The founders were Krzysztof WÅ‚odarczyk (known to the Polish audience from, among others, Witchmaster) and Chris Hancox. The lads were jamming out, trying to create something immersed in metal, but without any genre labels or restrictions. Already in 2015, the group (after the addition of a bass player) released their first EP into the world, but their style didn’t stabilise until the 2017 fully fledged debut, Over Phlegethon. The unusual mix of avantgarde metal, drone and dark jazz that forces you to stop and think guaranteed the band a huge group of fans who search for that which lies in the dark corners of metal. Two EPs were their next projects, and in 2021, the band released their second and latest album – “Through Aureate Void”.
