Lik

If we were to translate the band’s name into English, they’d be called ‘Corpse’ – and what an apt name that would be for the Swedish Lik. The Stockholm band, true to their Swedish heritage, play the purest form of death metal, with solos shredding air like a chainsaw shredding flesh and dead bodies piling up in their lyrics. Entombed, Dismember or Carnage are your death metal of choice? If yes, you won’t be disappointed with what Lik’s got to offer.

History:

2014 is generally regarded as the beginning of Lik. Three friends (Katonia’s Niklas Sandin, Mefisto’s Chris Barkensjö and Tomas Åkvik) who on a daily basis were engaged in other musical projects decided to start playing old-school Scandinavian death metal on their own terms. They wasted no time and in 2015 released their debut record “Mass Funeral Evocation”. Coming right on time for the renaissance of old-school Swedish death metal, the album garnered much acclaim, and their follow-ups, the 2018 “Carnage” and the 2020 “Misanthropic Breed” helped the band grow even more and secured their spots on many metal summer festivals.
