Trepaneringsritualen

Dark, darker, even darker, Trepaneringsritual. Thomas Ekelund’s solo project is ambient in its most perverted, darkest and terrifying form. Spots of sound in the blackest black are tossed around and contrasted with a mechanical industrial infected with noise dirt.

History:

Trepaneringsritualen is the solo project of Thomas Ekelund, a Swedish songwriter who passed through many a group, but in 2008 decided it is time to make it on his own. Thinking about a project that combines ambient, industrial and noise into one, he soon started working. He was working hard then, he is working hard now – which resulted in eleven studio albums, seven EPs and a number of other, smaller releases. In 2017, Ekelund was joined by Peter Nÿland and Trepaneringsritualen has been operating as a duo ever since. Their latest album is the 2019 “ᛉᛦ – Algir; eller Algir i Merkstave”.
